Community Development Projects

The Rwanda Outreach and Community (ROC) Partners is devoted to fundraising for education and community development projects in Rwanda. Together with our partners we have undertaken various projects. The key community development project on site today is that of Christ's Church in Rwanda (CCR). Community development projects are key to Rwanda's Vision 2020 and a hopeful vision for the future.

CHRIST'S CHURCH RWANDA (CCR)

250-300 people meet at Christ's Church in Rwanda (CCR). This church plant will in time focus on planting churches and spreading the love of Jesus in Rwanda.  CCR is one of few churches to register with the government in several years. In the past, Rwanda lacked leaders willing to use their influence in business, policy, and education to model God's love, justice and forgiveness. CCR is utilizing the ROC hall that will serve up to 500 of these "thought leaders" for worship and as a base for spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through church planting in the region.

One of CCR’s special community development projects is its Vulnerable Children’s Ministry where ROC and CCR sponsor girls secondary education for young ladies who would otherwise be unable to attend secondary school.

CCR partnered with the Ministry of Local Government (MINELOC) in its Itorero project to promote important business values that are lacking in Rwanda. CCR developed and shared a series from a faith-based perspective.

LET’S START TALKING (LST)

ROC has partnered with CCR and several Rwandan schools to provide conversational English and ESL classes through Texas-based, Let’s Start Talking. This is an important effort as Rwanda’s government mandated that English be the primary language of education and government leaving many looking for opportunities to learn.

Food for the Hungry International (FHI)

Food for the Hungry (FHI) operated out of  Rwanda Outreach and Community (ROC) Partners’ Community Center (Now KICS) for the first sixteen months. This partnership enabled KICS to grow and gain sustainability. FHI proved to be an outstanding partner as its activity and involvement in Rwanda are second to none. FHI blessed ROC through many partnering efforts. FHI set up a shared guesthouse for ROC and FHI guests as well as a kitchen and lunchroom for KICS that has served the students and staff of FHI, KICS, & ROC. ROC is thankful to have had FHI on site partnering for the good of Rwanda. For more information on Food for the Hungry International please visit their website.
